i currently work at publix and one of the things that really piss me off are when lazy *** people park in the fire lane or park illegally to get that front spot so there lazy *** don't have to walk as far. i googled parking enforcment employment in florida because im interested in a job like this. i was wondering if there was a site where i could look at the qualifications and what not for this job and are if there are any openings. my zip code is 34690

you have to be very experienced in the use of firearms, public policy considerations, a law degree, have excellent handwriting to write citations, and be amicable in hostile situations.

how do you know they're not old cops? that can't retire yet, but the stress of walking a normal beat everyday is something they can't handle?

it just seems to me that since it's people enforcing the law, they'd be part of law enforcement, which are cops lol

I think it can be either there are people walking the beat checking meters but usually when someone parks in a handicapped spot without a handicapped ID, parks in front of someones driveway or in a fire or loading zone it is a cop (again depends on area, day downtown boston the meter maid would do both, if a cop is just doing his beat driving around and sees you then he would ticket you)

If you are near a city you can prob get a job as a meter maid or meter butler whatever they call the guy meter people.

Got a ticket last week for parking in front of someones driveway during a snowstorm because I could not see it and got a $15 ticket. first parking ticket in 11 years!
