The specs on these very rare amps are very impressive and under rated. lil info first

two rare matching sony mobile es dual mono amps. A g2100 and g260. 1 ohm stable and 2 ohm stable bridged. Probably the finest amps I've ever owned but I also just moved from 4 amps to 2.

Lots of power. g2100 is fused at 60 amps and was benched to give 500 at 4 ohms bridged.

The g260 is slightly smaller and fused at 50 amps.

Each channel is basicly its own amplifier as there are two power supplies in each two channel amp.

Specs are as follows for the g260 and g2100 specs are later listed.

Power output and total harmonic distortion: 60(100 for g2100) watts per channel minimum continuous average power into 4 ohms, both channels driven from 20-20,000 Hz with no more than 0.03% total harmonic distortion per Car Ad Hoc Committee standards.

Circuit system: OTL (output transformerless) circuit Pulse power supply.

Inputs: RCA pin jacks.

Outputs: Speaker terminals. Speaker impedance: 1-8 ohms (stereo) 2-8 ohms (when used as a bridging amplifier).

Rated power for the g260

60 watts per channel (20-20,000 Hz, 0.03% THD, at 4 ohms)

120 watts per channel (20-20,000 Hz, 0.08% THD, at 2 ohms) 170 watts per channel (20-20,000 Hz, 0.1% THD, at 1 ohms)

240 watts (monaural) (20-20,000 Hz, 0.08% THD, at 4 ohms)

340 watts (monaural) (20-20,000 Hz, 0.1% THD, at 2 ohms)

MAXIMUM OUTPUTS:

160 watts per channel (at 4 ohms)

300 watts per channel (at 2 ohms)

420 watts per channel (at 1 ohms)

600 watts (monaural) at 4 ohms

840 watts (monaural) at 2 ohms

The g2100 rated specs are

100x2 at 4ohms

180x2 at 2ohms

210x2 at 1 ohm

360x1 at 4 ohm

420x1 at 2 ohms

MAXIMUM OUTPUTS:

230 watts per channel (at 4 ohms)

380 watts per channel (at 2 ohms)

500 watts per channel (at 1 ohms)

700 watts (monaural) at 4 ohms

1000 watts (monaural) at 2 ohms

This amp was benched and provided a little over 500 watts bridged at 4ohms and about 700 bridged at 2 ohms. For a good idea of true continuous power look towards the average between the rated and max power.

Heres a pic of the g260

And the g260 and the g2100 on each end of a g2100 with a cover not for sale.

The gold "sony es" emblem was a custom touch I put on them from some other sony equiptment I had.

G260=some light scuffing= $160+ shipping from 07201

G2100= excellent shape= $200 + shipping

If you want both, Ill entertain offers but these are one of sony's best amps and go for at least this and more on ebay. No lowball. None will have nifty gold ES emblem either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Specs say 100x2 @ 4. Is it quite underrated ?
Yes. It was benched at a lil over 500 bridged at 4 ohms but only stated 360 watts as minimum rated power at that config. The rated power is the minimum power and the max is the max. Do an average of the two and youll get an idea of what this amp can do on average. The rated rms is at 12 volts and these have unregulated power supplies.

Theres a 30 amp fuse on each channel to give you a hint of what it can produce. Consider that most 200x2 rms amps have two 30-40 amps fuses and on usual a 100x2 amp has a single 30 amp fuse or a 40 amp fuse.

If youre wondering if it will power the cdt comps you have to their full potential, the answer is yes, very easily.

Sony is one of the largest manufacturer of electronics in their world. These amps were made by Sony Japan which is of higher quality in all of their items.

Sony's high end tvs are built by themselves. Not sure of the cheap dlps but much of the modern tvs on sony high end are patented by sony.

And bump

hmm really? i see nothing but trash talk about sony....
sorry.
Great response.

So basically in order to change your opinion on things, I just have to get a bunch of people talking about it.

I'll start the having *** with your brother is really cool thread shortly.
