Whos got a lot of expierence with painting? i plan on doing quite a bit and have a compressor so i was wondering a good gun to get. and where to get paint from and any other tools that help.

Campbell Hausfeld makes decent spray guns. I think the tips is what is more important. I worked at HD in the paint department for a few years but I am not familiar with auto painting.

what are you painting? random stuff? or cars?

a good starter gun is the purple one you buy at harbor freight for like 50 bucks. sprays suprisingly well and you don't have to worry about accidentally ****ing up a good gun while you're trying to get the hang of it.

honestly prep and spraying technique is more important than your gun. you could spend 1k on a "top of the line" SATA and if you don't know what you're doing your paint will still look like shit.

good tools to have for painting cars, a large sanding block and a small sanding block. that's pretty much all you need. unless you're lazy and you want to use a DA and a Finishsander, in which case these are the two i have...

besides bondo spreaders. if i were you i'd go to the local automotive finish supply store and look for something like these... these are what I use...

i buy all my painting stuff(minus the guns) at Finishmasters. I don't know if they're nationwide or not...
