Ok, well i bought an amp from a user on here and it has some bad cosmetic damage(stated in sale, was not ripped off, to clarify). It has paint marks on it and some minor scratches. Could i possibly paint the amp? I would like to i just want to make sure it wont effect the heatsink too much. Its a ED nine.1. I just thought i could make it look nicer. Maybe match the intereior or st. Thanks guys,

Mike Wentworth

Yea, it doesnt seem to hard. I may sand down the scratches with very fine sand paper before repaint. Im thinking red would look cool. Ill tape off the emblem. I just gotta find some paint that is not prone to chipping. Ill post pics when finished.

Hey i was in the same situation. I bought a PPI-PCX2125 and it was pretty beat up. but it worked great. After some research on here and DIYMobilAudio i found out painting it isn't bad for the amp aslong as you do light coats. It's not going to affect the head dissipation. btw did you ever consider power coating your amp? They do offer a large selection of color.

Ive painted a few. Dont use High heat paint. Its to thick and will trap heat. Use a regular type non- enemal type paint. And if your amp is hot enough to damage normal spray paint, the the finnish is not your first concern at that point.
