i've always used ibuprofen for my shin splints, back pain, knee pain, head aches, etc. The prescription version comes in 600mg and 800mg, the otc version is 200mg so i take 4 whenever i need it (same Dose as Rx version) hope this helps.

i didnt know they sold ibuprofen otc about a week ago my uncle gave me two ibuprofen and the pain went away but he said they where prescription pills thanks alot for the info bro

anytime man.....(1) 500 count bottle of gen. motrin (ibuprofen) is only a few dollars vs. your co-pay in a pharmacy (a lot more). Cheaper to double/triple up and more conveniant imo.
