Paging the Focal experts - Utopia Be vs. K2P

Got VIPER power?
Just trying to make a final decision here - going into the font door / A-pillar in a 2005 SRT-10 Quad Cab...

I have heard both sets, at the same time, with the same CD, with the same power - but that was in the shop, on the board, under ideal acoustic conditions.

Anyone have any "real-world" experience (even from a comparable view-point) or advice as to whether or not the $1400.00 (list) in price difference is noticeable in a vehicular environment...

Thanks in advance,

S.

Hey man, I have Focal K2P's in my 2005 Ford Explorer, They are rediculous. Honestly, I don't know about the Utopia Be's, but i do know I have an Orion 8004 powering the K2P's and, with one battery, i haven't dynamatted it yet, I can clearly hear the music over my subs on any song....and my subs hit 145.5 on tones last weekend. If you want to go with the Utopia's more power to you, but the K2P's ****.

First let me say: NICE TRUCK. I came real close to buying one about a year ago.

I have not heard the Focal Utopia Be's But I have had the opportunity to hear the 165 K2P's at nausium. I actually had them on order until I got to a/b with a pair of Polk Audio SR6500's. Needless to say I ended up installing the Polk Audio's in my F150 Screw. And, they sound fantastic.

Now the Be's may "smoke the SR6500's. But depending on what your ears like. Give the Polks as listen before you by the K2P's

imo just go with the k2p's...not because they are a better speaker but because the are a better speaker choice for stock locations...imo the be's dont belong in your door....theyll perform better in kicks....

if you have that much money to spend.....running active can get you a lot more bang for the buck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

but as for the original question... like mentioned before... if you are not going to go all out and do like 2 h701s + kicks + extreme deadening and such i would just go with the k2p's it'll make you happy and you save 2-3 grand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
