pa a3000db

It claims 3000 peak at 1 ohm. I figured it wouldnt do the claimed 2300 wrms, but I didnt realize it put out dirty power also. Dayum. I'm thinking it'd do about 1800-2000 @ 1 ohm. I agree with the above. Run the a3000db at 1 ohm and be careful with gains.

i was looking at the pa a3000db also, but what pushed me away from buying it was 1. it puts out like 2300 peak at 1ohm and 2. it puts out very dirty power.
first, of all it's rated at 3000W peak and 2300W RMS at 1 ohm. it probably won't do that power, but still enough for a single Q.

second, what makes you think it won't output a clean signal?

of course it wont do it rated power, its only $250. If it did do rated power eeryone would have them

the only reason people would claim "dirty power", is simply that the THD is probly relativly higher on this amp at full tilt than other higher quality brand amps at full tilt. With subs you can get upwards to 10% THD before its noticable (thats also install and driver depandant). im sure if you arent pushing an amp to its limits, itll perform more efficently and probly have a lower THD than it would at full tilt.

as for bumpin focus here, if you set your gains right around 1600w, youll have an ampley powered Q, and an amp that isnt working itself into a sweat, probly providing much better sound than if you beat em like red headed step children. get the power akoustic, youll get plenty of power and a little head room. head room is a good thing people

i had a pa 3000db hooked up to two L7s at 2 ohm and it worked fine...not the best quality of course but she did the job

also i noticed it got real hot very fast, and ver easily
