P0620 error code after HO Alt install

Weird things are happening with these newer cars. My dads friend has a newer Volkswagen Passat like an 2003 model and in order for it to pass inspection the factory radio has to be installed in the car. Will not pass inspection with an aftermarket radio

That would be a pain in the butt. What stupid engineer designed that or what stupid QA engineer missed that.

Well pulled/reseated the connector on the alternator and its still throwing the code //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Awaiting a callback from mean green, I sure hope the alt doesn't have to go back.

Sounds like a huge B.S. plan by automakers to keep people from buying aftermarket radios. Kind of goes along with them making engine compartments smaller and more things run by computer to force buyers to rely on car dealerships to make repairs, instead of saving our money to do the work ourselves. Some automakers like Audi will void your warranty if you make any repairs by a non-authorized service station "Dealership" while the vehicle is under warranty, this can be extended to include replacing parts or modifying the vehicle.

well, talked to mean green and they said it probably has the wrong regulator in it, so I just dropped it off at DHL, hopefully they get it back to me in good time.

Well besides ford changing regulators a million times in a few years on the f150, they also **** for using molex's in the door jamb. Whoever invented the molex should be *** ***** a thousand times, I don't care how easy it makes taking the doors off. Another reason to hate new cars.

Figured while the truck is down for atleast a week waiting on the alt, might as well rip the molex's out and run some door speakerwire the right way. Seems that one project leads to another.

Ok, the molex connectors on f150's pretty much eat a ****, after alot of time a few nicks on a few wires I got my door speakerwire ran. What a mfpita.

Still no word on the return of my alternator from mean green yet
