Best thang smokin'!
High power @ 2ohm on a budget. Here's my situation - I just got a new job and with my first paycheck ($400-$500), I'd like to treat myself to a new sub/amp combo to replace my Kv.2 and NiNe.2. I've found 2 10" Oz Audio Matrix Elites for sale for $140 each, about $260 shipped for both. Now the problems start. Both are dual 4ohm models (I know it'd be easier to get 2 2ohm models and wire to 1ohm but I can't find them cheap or used..) so I'd like to wire them to 2ohm. The challange is finding an affordable ($200-$250) amp that can put out a decent amount of power at 2ohm. I've read that the MEs are very efficient so I believe I can get away with running them at a little less than their rated 500w RMS. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I should be looking at? I've considered a BX1500D but then I took into account all the problems and overrating issues I've heard about. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

How are you going to get 2ohms mono from 2 dvc 4ohm woofers?

As far as I know 1ohm or 4ohm are your only options when wiring the a pair of dvc 4ohm woofers to a bridged amp.

The ED 9.1 would fit the bill nicely

1200 x 1 @ 1 Ohm Mono

900 x 1 @ 2 Ohm Mono

450 x 1 @ 4 Ohm Mono

Also a Concept 1200.1 would work

JBL 1200.1

There should be lots of 1ohm stable 1200 watt amps on ebay.
