Owned X2

Well last night I was driving around in Springfield, MA to go see some fireworks. Show was great and everything went well. After the show was over there were about a million people all trying to get out of the parking garage I was parked in. Anyways, I was stopped right next to another mustang. Not sure of the exact year but it was somewhere between a 1994-1998 GT model. Anyways, the guy pulls up next to me with his girl in the passengers seat.(Yes, she was good looking). The guy looks over at me and turns his system up. Trunk rattling like crazy, and the thing sounds like complete crap. But it was somewhat loud. I just look over and smile. I reach down and turn my HU on. Played a nice 27Hz tone with the mags:up2somet: The girl looks over and her jaw drops and she just smiles. I am pretty happy at this time. Looks like I won the battle...

..then the guy yells over to me. What you got under the hood? I mumble a V6. He goes, cobra engine here, quarter mile in 9 flat. And revs the engine. Made me want to cry:crying:

 
Then why were the Ford boys crying into their cereal when the Grand National was spanking the GT 'Stangs on a regular basis? (that was with a 6cyl, by the way...)

If he was talking specifically about the mustang engines, then yes, v6 FTL. Obviously though, there are plenty of amazing 6's, 7m..2jz..rb..gn etc.

As far as you getting owned, not really. If you have a car for performance, good, keep it that way. Don't weigh it down with heavy audio crap. Both performance and audio are my hobbies, but I didn't put audio equipment in my supra, and I have no dillusions of my Maxima being fast. Also, him running a 9 flat? Gonna have to call total BS on that. Even with massive slicks, 9 flat is ridiculously fast for any cobra.

Also, I don't think his car was as fast as he said. The engine didn't sound that great, it could have easily have been a regular GT engine. And it deff. wasn't an 03 or newer cobra engine if it was one at all.

I'll put my buddy's Audi S4 (6 cyl. turbo, 550hp/480ft.lbs at the crank) against most any street Mustang... Until you can regularly do 3.2 second 0-60 times, EVERY TIME, like CLOCKWORK without worrying about wheelspin (and due to the all-wheel-drive, 0-60 times in 5 seconds IN THE RAIN), and 180mph+ down the back straight of Road Atlanta... don't bother. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif And, BTW... that's WITH a whole system (ADS 8-ch amp, front custom seperates, deck-mounted sub enclosure, etc.) in the car!

No ****ing way he ran 9's, I agree... I think the most the cobra engine of that eraput out twas like 305 horse, and maybe low 14's if that. He obviously got self owned... Boasting FTL.

At leas he was a fellow ford owner.
