If it put out rated power, then yes it would be overpowering your subs simply based on the information you gave. Depending on what subs they are, they might actually be able to handle more then what it said on the box they came in. I personally would avoid Boss amps though.

That amp will put out maybe 900/800 watts rms @ 4ohms. I wouldn't do it. Just buy an amp that does it's rated power and can do 700rms @ 4ohms.
