Overcurrent?

I have a Memphis 16-PR1KD, Mono amp.

1000wx1ohm

I have two 12in subs, 2ohm DVC wired to 1ohm.

When I turn my system up.. it hits. But if I turn it up louder, or a real deep bassline drops, the Overcurrent light comes on and shuts the amp in protection mode. I have to cut the CD player off then back on.. Anyone know exactly what that means and the solution if any?

you have two 2 ohm DVC subs? and you say your running 1 ohm? i believe your actually running at .5 ohms. i say this because, 2 4DVC subs, run at 1 ohm. check your wiring.
