Over-Kill? No such thing!

Get some Rainbow Powerline CMX Kicks (about $330 shipped) or the Powerline CS (almost $1000 shipped) from an authorized dealer here on the forum. Either choice should give you an awesome front stage. Don't worry about the rears right now... you just might be surprised how good a system can sound with only strong front speakers and a subwoofer stage. Then if you do want rears, you can just add them in later.

Dynaudio 242, Seas Lotus Reference Comp Set, Seas Lotus Performance Comp or Rainbow Profi Phase Plug Comp set would be my choices. But I'm not sure what kind of sound you after. Some of these components have very different sound.

Also for some reason I didn't fancy the CAl27 all that much. It was okay but IMO the cal26 titan was a better tweeter for my tastes.

Deja is a smart man, take his advice!!

Feeling any better btw?

6 speakers?! I had a 95 Intrepid at one point and I only recall front door 6.5's and rear deck 6x9's

What I did with that car was replaced the fronts and switched to components with the tweeter mounted on the a pillar and replaced the 6x9s with cheapos to handle midbass. Finally I threw 2 12's in the trunk. System sounded great.

This time around i started with 6 stock speakers. I ended up ripping out 4 and only running a high-end front component set paired with a 10in sub in the back.

Ive come from using several speakers and wont go back.......less really is more when done right.

Well I'll put an update when i get all this done on what happens but from my point of view I love sound quality but i don't mind sacrificing a little tiny bit of quality for a bit of loudness. And on that note i'll probly end up just putting in one Sub maybe a 14"
