Outfitting A 1966 Corvair Convertible

I have a 1966 Corvair Monza convertible which means the engine is in the back, it means there's no behind the rear seat area because the top folds into there, and it means there's no factory speaker spots because she's old and it was an option that apparently the original owner didn't want to sport for. It also means loss of noise, or HUGE competing noise, from the wind factor.

I'm piecing together a sound system. This is my first time. My motorcycle doesn't have audio and my civic hatchback is 10 years old with an equivalent cheapo sound system my dad wired up (and I promptly blew the speakers and never replaced!!)

So far I've bought:

FRONT SOMEWHERE (KICKS?): 2x Blaupunkt THc650 Component THIN SERIES 6.5" with tweeters and crossovers. (SPECS: 60W RMS each, 65-23,000 Hz, 90 db, 4 Ohms)

BENEATH FRONT BUCKET SEATS: 2x Blaupunkt ODw1000 10" Overdrive Subwoofer Speaker (SPECKS 200W RMS each, 20-0.2k Hz, 90 db, 4 Ohms).

I need to get 2 more mid range speakers for the back, a front deck (preferably with USB and aux in front as that's primary mp3 play storage for me), and amps (4 channel for speakers and 1 or mono block for subs.

Suggestions on how I'm proceeding or how I proceed from here?

As a non-mechanical, non audio geek-type girl - you guys may have to dumb down replies.

The front deck I'm looking at is the Blaupunkt Melbourne SD27

receiver with built-in amplifier (18 watts RMS/45 peak x 4 channels)

plays MP3 and WMA files on SD cards (no CD player)

detachable face

remote control

3 preset EQ curves ("Rock," "Pop," and "Classic")

Xbass bass boost

compatible with optional Blaupunkt Bluetooth adapter

compatible with optional Blaupunkt iPod adapter

auxiliary input (front panel)

one set of preamp outputs

Sure thing - will post some pics - and thanks.

P.S. the stereo head will be fitted into the glove compartment. There is a working 1966 corvair am radio on the way to be fitted in the stereo spot.

I had a chance to buy one of these, hard top though for $500. But I didnt know how to work on the motor and the exhaust was coming into the cab horribly.

This is going to be a challenge to do an install on, the electrical system has to be super small.

Speaking of Corvairs with v8's, while my dad was in college a person he know put a 455 out of a Old's Toranado into a corvair, it didn't have a back seat though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
