i might be moving too orlando. the college is offering an intership to disney. i'll get paid like $9 an hour to work at disney world and get free housing. i'm not sure if i want to go or not though. it's kinda hard to just pick up and leave somewhere you lived all your life. chanaces are i may never come back. i could get a serious job offer and stay down there permenately. i already signed up since it's pretty much a first come first serve type deal. i don't have a whole lot of info yet, but figured i would sign up, and then just not go if i didn't want to.

Do eeet bruh. I moved to the Tampa area from Chitown 3 years ago and love it. Then again I hate snow and cold weather. Me and the wife got married here while on vacation then a year later asked ourselves why we weren't living here. I just cashed out the 401k packed up and left. 9/hr and free housing, how can you go wrong? Not that 9/hr is a lot of money but combined with free housing it's relatively atrractive. If you don't like it, you can always move back. Seems like a good experience to me though.

i hate hot weather though. i don't mind the cold but not the bitter cold. i worry about hurricanes. i guess it would be worth it for a semester, then i can always move back.

Do what you want, but ive visited orlando many times, and it is definatly a tourist town, and that is something you have to be ready for....such as tons of little kids crawling all over the town 365, ridiculously high sales taxes, and if you like the cold weather, it rarly gets cold in florida, I was there last new years day for an LSU football game and i was in shorts and t-shirts the whole time.

i live in a tourist town now, but nowhere near the size of orlando. all the detroiters like to flock up north here every weekend and tear the town apart and go home. i don't know if i could adapt to florida. i think 70 degrees is a little on the hot side, lol. i guess i could use it as a good learning experience then come back to michigan.

70 degrees hot, down here in the south thats a cool day, im not sure about the yearly climate in florida, only because i only visit, but here in Louisiana, it pretty much stays over 80 degrees from April too september/October, and we have 90-105 degree heat off and on for around 3 months.

Do it, orlando is great... not my type since iam hispanic and up there is just alot of Americans(nothing racial, just the way i prefer) Anyways, its a great city with alot of things to do at night(oh yes, ALOT) and if you get free housing, thats a for sure. Dont think over this twice... and as for hurricanes, i have gone through like 20 of them in the past 7 years. And nothing ha sbeen done to my house.. this is including Katrina. You will enjoy it man.

Depends on how fast you drive, usually 1 1/2 hr to 2 hrs. What part of Jacksonville?

all i know is jacksonville. not actually in the city of jacksonville, but south down the cost a little. i guess it's like a suburb of jacksonville. i think the name of the town is palatka?

I feel ya on that chinny, trying being black in living in Jacksonville. Somebody keyed "KKK" into my girlfriends car in broad daylight at wal-mart.
