Orion XTR PRO 2400

2400wts @ 2Ohms

I want to run 3 2Ohm DVC Subs, but that's 1.34Ohms..

Would the Orion be alright to run even though it is not stated to be 1Ohm stable?

I would ask Orion if you have't already. Give their customer support a call and run it past them. I'd also ask them if the amp has enough protection circuitry to shut itself down if its getting to hot or doing something its not meant to do.

I agree with what has been said. Sometimes the only way to really find out is to try it. Some amps can do it, some can't. Orion makes workhorse-type amps, but you never know. I like what Anthropas said about the protection circuitry. Should definitely call Orion and check that out.

Is that the new amp or an old orion? I know the old orions can take that, but not sure about the new ones

It's an older amp.. If I did run with that, would there be damage done to the amp, or would it just go into protection..? :readytogo

What is an amp that I could run with running @ 1.34Ohms or 3Ohms?

I really don't want to get an amp and run it lower then it's max.. Isn't JL the only people who make amps into 3Ohms..? :blow_up:

What you would be looking for is any amp that has a regulated power supply, that is it supplies the same amount of power at every stable impedence. There are other companies that make amps with regulated power supplies, but I don't know any. lol.

Check out the JBL BPX amplifiers. I don't think they are regulated per se, but they give the same amount of power between 2 and 4 ohms. Might be a little pricey, however.

It will not be published to handle the load but Orion amps were always well known for doing what you asked of them if you took a few precautions. Give them plenty of juice (good power wire/well functioning charging system) and don't abuse them. If you do that they will last you years. I have Orion SX series amps (the last series before they used internal x-overs) that I bought new 7 yrs ago. Not one hiccup. I have seen SX amps briged mono on a couple 4 ohm subs before that did fine.
