orion xtr 12?

Should i do 2 cubes at 32 hz? I plan on feeding it more than the 250 rms its rated and cant remember if you go bigger or smaller with box size when over powering? Also how much power can this sub handle? My amp puts out 500 rms, can it take that much daily?

Thanks

^ cuz thats what they want it to be..
Yea except most subs require a lot more airspace when in a ported enclosure and 40 hz seems to high for daily music... Alot of times the manufactures recomendations aren't accurate, like orions xtr pro 12 they recommend 1.5 cubic foot ported, but their test box was way different...

tune it to whatever you think is best man
I plan on it but this is my first box i'm gonna build that's ported and i wanna get the best performance outa my sub... I have no idea what works for this sub, i cant really find to much about it so i wanna find out the right size box so it don't sound like **** when it could sound way better...

I would ditch the subs and start over. I had an orion cobalt co124s and it blew up in less than 10mins. Was running it sealed in 1.2 cu/ft after sub displacement with about 500w rms and it didn't get loud till it was getting its *** kicked. Yea, yea I know I was overpowering the **** out of it but I'd expect it to hold up better than that. I have run double the rated rms on 4 different kinds of mtx subs, run double the rms to a Boston G1 and a ton of other subs I have run over rated rms to with 0 issues. Even had some crappy MTX road thunders have held up almost double their rms. I'm not really experienced with Orion but I have heard an older pair of their 12s, not sure of the model/box (early pair of hccas?) setup but man did they sound poopy.

FWIW I have never seen anyone running an Orion setup, tuned under 40hz, it seems to me they are all farty spl subs. I could be wrong.

Yea i would like to ditch it, but my dads buddy used to own a car audio shop and i don't really think he knows what hes doing and unfortunately told my dad orions were kick *** subs, top of the line... And i told him i had 500 rms so the guy told my dad this was what i needed so i think my dad would be pissed/sad if i got rid of it and got something else... Maybe you could trade me somethin better for it? LMAO JK...
