Orion HCCA-D2400 amp for single 12" Kicker L7

I'm new to this car audio stuff but I was wondering what you guys think about pairing an Orion HCCA-d2400 with a single 12" 4-ohms Kicker L7. Will this be enough power or should I maybe go with a slightly bigger amp as long as I have the gains properly set?

Get a Dual 2 ohm and run that amp at 1ohm on the sub. Even at 2ohms it will do ok, but I think ur sub will like more power thats why I say run it at 1ohm.

Minnesnowta huh? What part? I'd do like Revrider said and get a dual 2 ohm sub. If you already have the sub I would look into an amp that makes its power at 2 ohms.

OK cool because that's what I bought. But the rms at 1 ohm is 1200w and the power handling is 750w. Will this matter if I have someone set my gains correctly? And I'm from Medina, so west metro...

With impedance rise your amplifier will probably seldomly see a 1 ohm load. I had a 10" L7 wired to a ZX750.1 in a ported enclosure wired at 2 ohms and it pounded hard. If you want to be safe wire it to 2 ohms. If you want to get the most out of the sub do a 1 ohm load on that amp. And by the way that amp is a good little amplifier. Does some power.

I have this sub, and I'm looking for a good amp for it as well.

FYI: You can't wire this sub 2-ohm. It's got 2 2-ohm voice coils, so series makes it 4-ohm and parallel makes it 1-ohm. If you have 2 DVC subs, you can series them, for 4-ohm each, and parallel them for 2-ohm as seen by the amp.

Myself, I'm searching for a 1-ohm-stable amplifier, aiming for 750 watts rms. Anybody know a good one? the ZX750 won't serve 1-ohm, and it's only 375Wrms at 4-ohm

I was looking at Phoenix Gold Xenon series, the 600.1 seems like it would be pretty nice, but i think i would like a little more power than that...

what do you guys think?
