Orion CO2105 amp bridged into 3 ohms?

I have an odd ball, TC Sounds 10" sub that's 3ohms. I'd like to power it with my Orion 2105, rated at 400W @ 4 ohms. I've read some rumors that the older Orion amps can handle lower than published impedances. Does anybody with experience with this amp think that I can safely run a 3 ohm sub? The subs DC coil resistance is 2.9 ohms.
