orion 2500d vs. orion 2400 xtr pro,,?

i liked my xtr pro 2400's better then my 2500d i also ran my 2400's daily at 1 ohm with out any problems ( there rated for 2 ohm only) the 2400's are not a product of DEI either...imo its a all round better built/solid amp and looks better to.

1ohm bridged or stereo? what kind of numbers was it doin at 1 ohm,,,dosent it say 2400 watts at 2 ohm. or more like 2400 at 1 ohm?

i had 2 of these... each one on a mojo 15" at 1 ohm each this was a daily driver setup i had in my blazer.... it was before i started competing so never got it metered but there was a noticeable diff from the 2 ohm which it is rated for and what it put out at 1 ohm with a good amount current draw to. But they never got hot and never shut off and they were some absolute beasts....as far as what they were doing rms wise i would say over 3krms but i never clamped them either...

Both of these amps are mono, there's no bridging involved (unless you're talking about external bridging or "strapping" two amps together).

The XTRPRO 2400 should be unregulated too, meaning it will *try* to output double power into the next halve in impedance (unless it's unlike it's contemporaries and Orion decided to use regulation under 2-ohms). Seems people have had success (as posted here) with running it at 1-ohm though. Even at 2-ohms, however, the current draw is quite something on this amp--you should definitely have upgraded electrical including a HO alternator to run even one of these.
