oscope, no... clamp meter, DMM, and a termlab.

try measuring both with an oscope under clipping and then compare power output.

What difference does it make? The opti sucks more current to make .3db worth more power.. and it was .3 worth more power, the sub still wanted more hence the 1db gain with both amps going to 16v.

I don't care what an oscope says, I care what the TL says.

For daily driving the clippd signal would be an issue since it'd wear down the sub quicker and kill it quick with ur average basshead beating the system everytime he's in his car....

SPL and comps....clipping doesnt mean shit, for the most part

as for the 2 amps....obviously the orion has a better build quality but that's translated in the PRICE DIFFERANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! duh

im pretty sure the orion @ 1 ohm can do a clean signal and still do it's 2500wrms, but thats cause i have faith

yea, some amps snap/crackle/pop (no pun intended) when they clip... and some aren't nearly as bad. Generally the bigger $ amps aren't as bad... but thats not always the case.
