I am powering my XXX 15 with a 2500d. I have a couple questions, what does the "12 - 24 - FULL" switch represent and what should I have it set at? Also it dosent look like it has a SSF, what should I use to compensate for that? The XXX is in a 4 cube 32 hz box. Oh, on my deck the equalizer has a option for "PASS, 12db Oct, or 24db Oct. What should I have this set to as well? Thanks for all your help!!!

it does have a ssf filter, they just call it a high pass filter which is basically what a ssf is. the 12-24-full is the slope adjustment on the crossover i do believe. if you are gonna use the headunit crossover set that to full. as for your headunit crossover i like to use a 12-24 db slope. try each one and see which one you like best.

Ok, I turned my HPF down to 30hz about where my box is tuned to. But there is minimal to no output. When I turn it back to 80hz where I had it everything is normal again....I dont want to blow my sub for the second time so what am I suppose to do. Aren't you suppost to set the SSF (HPF) to around where your box is tuned???? Thanks for the help, obviously your dealing with a noob here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

sounds like you turned the lowpass down to 30 hz.
Thats what I'm thinking.

If you were to turn you LPF down to 30 you would only let notes under your tuning play, when raise to 80hz it would let anything under 80 through. My guess is you turned the lpf down to 30 and werent playing any notes under 30 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Where in this lovely state are you at?

i live in cedar rapids bimma. mabey you can help me out. i am def turning the hpf down i dunno whats up. mabey its time to sell the xxx and get something else.....

Don't give up yet!!! Here is the owner's manual on line:

http://www.orioncaraudio.de/pdf/G47400_05_10_2-03.pdf

If it was me, I would start with your HU crossover settings turned off so you can see what the amplifier is doing.

I would start with the amp settings:

Low pass set to "12" and the frequency all the way up to 250 Hz.

High pass set to "24" and the frequency all the way down to 10 Hz.

IntelliQ set to 0. I would guess it can stay there. You will not need boost in this setup.

With a moderate volume level, you should be able to start lowering the low pass frequency until the midbass frequencies are reduced to the point you think it sounds good. You can also try the "24" setting to see if you like the steep rolloff better. I like it, but it is harder to blend it with your mids.

The high pass will be used as a subsonic filter. It does not need to be set at 30 Hz. around 20 Hz will work great, unless you plan to play 20-25 Hz test tones all day at 2500 watts. . . I usually play material that I would normally use to demo what I consider "low" bass. You can watch the cone excursion and listen to the output to help determine the optimal SSF setting for you.

Read the manual and try more settings. You should have an awesome setup there, don't give up yet!!!

Good luck,

Brian
