Orion 2500D is it any good?

I just bought the 2500D to power my 2 12W7's and an Orion 3002 for my 6 1/2's. has anyone used these amps and know if they work well with JL Audio speakers?

I think you've gotten VERY VERY VERY good amplifiers. I have yet to see any mediocre orion product. Gosh, I'd love to hear what it actually sounds like.

Amps and subs have no thoughts. They do as they are told. I don't think JL audio has any allergies to other brands.

btw, did you spend a fortune on the system? 2 W7's, coupled to orion's new amps..wow..

yes i went way over my budget, but i think it is gonna be worth it. I'll post pics after the install! everything should be here by friday and it will take me a couple weeks to install and make custom boxes since my trunk is small, wide and i dont think they made the trunk's of mustangs back in 1971 with the intention of installing 2 12W7's and an amp rack later on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

They never made the trunk of any Mustang with the intent of holding much of anything. The Fox body hatchbacks are another story, of course.

Those amps will surely impress you once they're hooked up. Congrats on a killer system in a killer car. Is that a genuine Mach 1 or a replica?

what do u mean a replica? the VIN # sayys it is a mach 1. did they even make a fastback other than the Boss or Mach 1? most 71's are what they are not a replica because there not as popular as the 68-69's.

Well, I wasn't sure. Mach 1's are just badass cars. If I owned a classic 'stang, it'd either have to be a Mach 1 or a Boss. Or maybe a custom fastback with one of those ultra-rare 427 "not hemi" hemi Boss motors. With a supercharger. Mmmm... Nah, I'd kill myself if I had a car like that. Then again, that ain't a bad way to go...

Anything by Orion is top notch. You can be rest assured you always get your monies worth when you buy Orion.. as long as you can afford it.

and I still say that your amp is overkill man...

dimmage isnt really all that bad.. yeah it still dims.. but not like it use to.. yeah and as far as the kickers.. i give them props.. like what r they.. 250 rms.. 500 max.. so far, ive blown 2 subs.. 1, i soldered the VC back.. and its still playing.. and as fa as the other.. its trashed.. the VC r still connected, it jus doesnt play..could be under the cone.. havent checked .. dont really care.. i replaced it w/ an older kicker impulse that i had.. the only other 8 ohm i had.. its smalled than the Xpls.. but i dont really hear no differnce.. in fact.. the Epic 150.. is even a lil higher now.. i use to not but see 152.. now i occasionally see 154.... but ill find out what its really doing 6-1.. if something doesnt come up like the last 2 shows i was going to goto...

Well, what was the point of fixing them? I remember that you were trying as hard as you could to blow your quad kicker Xsomething's...

yeah. just now i have few other things i have to take care of.. now i have a kid on the wa.. just got married the other day, and now have to pay for honeymoon... which were leaving out for tonight.. that was an easy grand spent.. and more to spend on the way.. so.. caraudio, is kinda being put on hold.. for awhile

Anyone know where I might send an extreme 800 for repair? I asked my local Orion dealer, he said that since this amp was made before the Directed buyout, they might not be able to send it in for repair. He is going to contact them today and let me know tonight. If they won't fix it where can I ship it? Or would I possibly be better off shipping it somewhere else anyway? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
