Hey everyone I have a orion 2500d pushing two orion h2's for the last two years with no problems at all till last week, I was out of town and I let a friend use my car he said he was listing to it kinda loud and it was cutting off just the subs so he lowered the volume and it was fine then he parked the car a couple minutes after that he got back in and the subs didn't work anymore at all...But the amp turns on and once its on it makes like the clicking sound over and over threw the subs I checked the subs and there fine all my wires were good..But I did find that the ground was a little loose I tightened that up but same problem. So I decided to disconnect everything and pull the panel off the bottom of the amp I took some pictures to show you, it looks like two little cylinder things blew. There right by the speaker outputs (you might see in the pics)it looks like clear shit come out from the inside and the tops look a little brown and raised up.Sooo let me know what ya think feel free to ask anymore questions.Sorry for the long *** story ha:D:D

it is just a capacitor. if you look on the side it should say like x amount of volts and then there should be a number with a weird u next to it. go to radioshack or whatever is by you and look for a capcitor with the same specs and you could probably do it your self if you know how to solder

Those cylinder things are called capacitors...there is a number on the side telling you what value or size they are...write down the info and bring it to radio shack...I doubt they have the parts in stock...but they should be able to order them for you...then you can carry it to a local vo-tech electronics school and have them replace them for you...they usually don't charge anything....

age... I see them blow in computers all the time, get brown ooze, and raised up. Look at all of them, and if it LOOKS like one may be raised up, have it replaced, if its oozing, replace, if its exploded, wtf were you doing, and replace it.

HEAT!

Capacitors are like little batteries. Heat is a major cause of blown capacitors. Yours are rated at 85 degrees celsius (185 farenheit). The eletrolite inside expands beyond the point of capacity and they will ooze. When that happens the caps fail to hold a charge anymore.

Fix your amp then find something to keep it cooler.

BTW, I notice the 2 larger caps with the black tops in the middle in the pic have a buldging top as well. Those are also in need of replacement. They are gonna go soon too.
