ORION 1200D vs JBL 1200.1(Worth the change)

I currently have a JBL 1200.1. I havent had any problems with it at all as of yet. My question to you guys is replacing the JBL with the ORION 1200D worth it. It will be powering a RE 12" XXX. On the front of it it says 2400 WATTS max power Why is that? if its 1200RMS @ 1ohm

Max is just that Max power, pay no attention to it... RMS is the key rating.

BTW the sticker on the front of the Orion peels off easily.

Only reason I could see switching is the lack of a SSF on the JBL. Overall I would suggest you keep what you have.

If you want to get down to the nitty gritty he does gain a little, read the post above ya. Orion is much better at taking that 1-ohm load than the JBL. You could even drop down to .5-ohm daily. I also like the Orion looks over the JBL, assuming it's the bp1200.1? Orion is moreso underrated, SSF... AND YOU GET AN ORION STICKER! SCORE!!1!!1

Dude get the orion.

I bet you will blow a sub eventually, it's gauranteeeed, unless you have the gain turned all the way down.

i beg to differ, i owned one, yes its a nice amp it was nice on my 12's, hooked it up to my 15's and they got fryed VC's, not very good smell, thing is same smell came from 12's, so they where prolly a lil crispy also.

Besides i bet the orion would be much nicer.

it's like sitting in a small car and thinking your going fast, compared to being in a big car and going fast and not knowing it... now that had no relevency:laugh:

You still failed to explain how a BP1200.1 can destroy subs. Chalk it up as user error...

nah, its the sub killer, chalk it up to clipping at a nominal gain rate.
