I recently obtained a 10 inch woofer for my car. For some reason I didn't like the way it sounded it didn't have any power. So I obtained a 150 watt optimus amplifier. I hooked up the power the ground and the REM using 10 gauge wire. The inputs on the amp required me to use RCA jacks or you know the jacks that has a pin in the middle and a ring on the outside. I used one that I cut off a video equipment wire. I just wanted to wire the subwoofer so I just took both inputs for the rear and hooked both theoutputs together into the sub. When I turned on the stereo all that came out of the sub was like garble. It was like popping and it just didn't sound right at all. I thought it was maybe the sub and tried another speaker box. Still it grabled and didn't sopund good. What is wrong HELP!!!!!

"Optimus Amplifier Trouble"... why yes it is!!!

but seriously... lay down the 3.00 for the radioshack stereo rca cables and go from there.

The rca jacks I bought were originally for sound but they worked for video to it makes a difference right now I'm juts using the amp of the rear right output because I only wnat to wire the sub through the amp. Can't I do that?

i dont totally understand what you are trying to tell me...you must have both channels of the head units rear rca out connected to the respective rca ins on the amp. when you bridge the amp it will combine the left and right signals internally.

Like @maylar said, delay the turn on to the amplifier only. 3 to 5 seconds should take care of it.
