ok a couple questions that have probably been covered sometime but i searched and didnt find anything very helpfull.

ive heard that subs get louder with the windows down/doors open. is this true?

if so, doesnt that mean that they will get louder in a larger vehichle? i hope not, my car is TIIINY

finally, are you allowed to have your windows down in dB drags?

sirsyko, no hard feelings here about all that shit talking in that other thread. i apologize. and thanks for the feedback. but i guess it doesnt matter since you cant have your windows down in db drags.

windows down: the sound can get out so outside it will be louderwindows up: louder inside cause it will pressurize the cabin more

false..........

the linear x and the termlab meters are not that far off in comparison. but why is there such a big gap in numbers??? db drag you have to have the vehicle sealed up. meca, you can have a combination of doors/windows open, and the vehicle running at the time of the pass.

spl.... is about air flow, the more air you move, the louder it is. everything matters in spl, from windows/doors/powerwire/placement of mic/vehicle/box type/number of subwoofers/power/tuning frequency of box/which way the box faces/which side the ports-ports are on

there are an infinite number of ways to increase spl scores....opening doors/windows is just one of them.

lean seats forward (in most vehicles) glove compartment down (if you are metering on the floorboards) settings on headunit..........

EVERYTHING matters. just have to find a comp association with rules you like. maybe you should check into meca, they allow doors/windows to be open.
