Just a quck question for you guys. What, is the benefit of bi-amping a set of fronts? I've got the 605, listen to music and movies at about a 50-50. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but since I dont have a 7.1, just a 5.1, I can take the 2 extra surround channels, and "double up" my fronts for a better than average stereo setup?

I'm looking into getting some new speakers (most likely from paradigm) and was wondering if its really worth it...

Thanks in advance...

It gives you more power and there for more headroom. It also is supposed to give you more musical separation between the highs and lows.

What series of Paradigms are you looking at? Ever look at B&W or Definitive Technologies?

Well, I stopped at a shop local to help a friend of mine get a car stereo and while there, took a listen to a few things. Took an ear to the studio series and the monitor series. Liked the monitors, loved the sudio 40's but there 3 times as much as the smaller Titan Monitors.

I was only there for a short while, not even looking for something for myself. But with everything I've gotten lately for that room...speakers are next.

TV: Samsung 46" LNT4665F

Receiver: Onkyo 605

Current Speakers: Phase Tech (but no sub)

Sub: Velodyne DPS12

Price range? Eh, I'd like to keep the mains and center under $1000 if possible, may extend it out to $1500 if something reallly good comes along...

New or will you do used?
Space available?
As long as they're still functional and sound good...I'll buy em.

Space? I can't do floorstandings, or anything on the heavy/large size. My left front is near a door leading to my porch and the last thing I want is some inebriated dumbass to hit my speaker...

My current front, is about 8" wide, 10" deep and about 20" tall on top of a stand with a 10" square base. I'd like to stay around that size.

If your referring to room size, its about 16' square...

What's your price range on mains?
I'm going to bi-amp mine with my 605 if my xover EVER GETS DONE!!!!

What are you doing this weekend? Can I sweep and test your drivers? So I can FINALLY finish your crossover...

Sounds like you need some B&W 684 and an HTM62... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
