Im in the process of designing a new box for my honda accord. Its going to take up my WHOLE trunk. Im going to try and get 8 cubes out of it. Anywayz, my original idea was to make the box and have my subs facing up toward my back dash instead of the traditional style of facing the trunk.
Now i've searched and searched and i hear that facing the rear would be the best. But the way i had on building my box, it would be hard to put the subs into the box while using the max area of my trunk for that extra airspace.
So i guess my question is for all the people who have been into caraudio for years and have done their fair share of installs, how much difference in ouput can you tell if you face the drivers up or towards the rear? Is there some general rule to go by, like leave a minimum/maximum of 3 or so inches from the rear dash or rear of the trunk for sound waves to flow. I have no clue, but since imma have to build the box inside my car, i want to do this one time and one time only. And i really cant play around with different boxes because of how big this box is going to be. So input would be greatly appreciated.
