So I have two jl audio 10w0 in a sealed box, I've had them for a year now. I want a bit more in my system. So I went to my local audio store and saw a jl audio 12w1v2 in a ported box for 250. Would this be an upgrade to what I have now. How would the sound differ, sq, loudness, lows, mediums, whatevers... Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the quick responses. So I think my vote is going to be porting existing subs, it wouldn't hurt to see how that goes first. The only problem is I don't know how to build things, but I know people so that will help. I found a guide made by jl audio for the w0 series. It doesn't talk about freq settings, that's something I worry about when the box is made, correct-o? Thanks again for your time.

since the specs for the box I'm following is specifically made for my subs should I not have to worry about the frequency?

I guess I don't quite understand the freq yet, that's what I set my amp to correct? I just need to find out what jl suggest setting it to for this box?

One more question, I just did a good amount of research on how to build the box, do I need to have a separator inside to separate the 2 subs or nothing in between. The only thing I read was that it's a good idea just because one sub may give out and it will throw the whole perfect dimensioned box off and the other sub will sound like shit.
