One last dumb question before I build my box today.

Building the 2 cubic foot box(includes the port displacement) at 33hz but I am unsure about woofer displacement. RE's specs say woofer displacement is 0.15 cubic feet and the spec box calls for 2.0 cubic feet at 33hz. Did they already calculate woofer displacement? Should I recalculate my box to 2.15 cubic feet plus port displacement?

Kinda lost but really need to get the box built.

you need to acount for woofer displacement. this is the only flaw with the RE box calculator, and its not as simple as making the box 2.15 cu ft.

ive used the RE deal b4 and what i do is get my net volume and tuning down, in you case 2 cu ft at 33Hz, then i make the box bigger to acount for the sub volume BUT DONT CHANGE THE PORT LENGTH. when u make the box .15 bigger in your case the tuning will fo up a tad, leave it, once the sub is installed volume will drop to 2 cu ft and tuning WILL be at 33 Hz.

leave the port as is and make the length of the box a bit bigger till ya get 2.15 cu ft

does it say all displacements for the box or just port .15 isnt that much to notice even if u recalculated with it in.

in your case, make the box 30.5" wide, net volume will be 2.14 cu ft and tuning will drop down to 32Hz, but tuning will come back up to 33Hz then your sub is in there, as net volume will still be 2 cu ft

what kinda sub u putting in this 2 cu ft box??

RE SE12! I am so pumped. I have been playing around crappy audio equipment for awhile. I am glad I have a legit setup now.

My max width is 30''. So.........

I am thinking about just doing a 1.75cuft box to 35hz instead to save space. 2cuft is whoring up the last bit of space in my Integra.

Any suggestions?

Haha. Dude, REALLY? I'm building a 3.5 CuFt box in an Integra in about a week.

It's all planned out. You have PLENTY of room.

just make the box 30" wide, it will be 1.95 net and 33.5 Hz. youll be fine!
