One 12"

Well, I've been searching the subwoofer threads as much as I can. And I haven't found what I've been looking for. For my system, I will be using one 12" sub. Since I will be using a Sundown amp for my comps, I will want to use their 1500D to power that sub. I like matching amps, I guess. So, this sub will have to be able to handle a lot of power.

But the thing is.... I am an SQ junky, and want the tightest, clearest, best-sounding sub. I will be putting it into a sealed enclosure, not sure what size yet. Also, I don't want the sub to drown out my mids, and highs. I want a great blend of music, not some sharp highs along with ridiculously loud bass.

What subs should I be looking at? I guess I would like to keep the price below $300. Also, I listen to pretty much ALL types of music. Hopefully you guys can help me out, and point me in the right direction. Thanks guys.

Sound Splinter RL-Ps are known to work well sealed, and fit your description.
Yeah, I've come across these a lot. Will they handle the power? 800wrms@ 2 0hms, 1500@ 1 ohm?

I'll sell you my Phoenix Gold Titanium Elite
I'm not looking to buy yet. But thanks for the offer.

Well, it seems that the new subs are these FI Audio subs. How do they stack up for sound quality? I know RE Audio has quite the following. Are their subs mainly SPL or do they have good, I want great, sound quality?

Have you heard about the Stereo Integrity BM 12's ? They retail at $280 and you can ask anyone on this site, they're solid subs for the price with great SQ and decent output.

they sell em over at http://www.low-hz.com if your interested.

or maybe the mag?
one of the new ones? for less than 300? Where???? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The rlp would do pretty well. I would be careful with the gain though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

maybe an fi q?

the IDMax is the first sub that comes into mind when you say, "the tightest, clearest, best-sounding sub." It won't handle 1500 watts, but I'm sure you wouldn't mind adding another one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif James Bang is running a pair @ 1 CuFt each and they're wangage. I'm assuming a ported box for a 12" Mag would be around the same size, so why not a pair of IDMaxs?

After reading his post, I think he prolly won't need more than 1 12 sealed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What does a ported mag have to do with anything? He said he wants 1 12 sealed for less than $300.

BTW, if you can get me 2 idmax for less than 300 a pair....HOOK IT UP!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Yea... thats true.. but budgets are expandable with time... besides things are always better in pairs. Ahem... Two girls and me *cough*

Haha, I like the whole two girls on one guy thing. Me being the one guy, and the two girls being hot.

Anywho, I think I might go with less power to the sub. How much power should I send an IDMax?

I have a D6 12 on 800rms It does well paired up with a set of 6.5s and 80rms each. I started out sealed then went ported. Way less that $300, accurate bass that gets pretty loud for a single sub.
