well i guess you are right a 10db increase is double the sound. ( i did some reading) in school they taught us that 3 db increase is double the sound and to double that is double the power. anyways sorry to hijack the thread

Due to the logarithmic nature of the dB unit and our ears, you would need to increase input power by a factor of 10 to achieve a 10dB increase.
