I have a 2001 Xtreme Blazer, stock 100amp alternator did the BIG 3 under the hood, New yellow top Optima. 1/0ga going to my Rockford BD1501- 1865x1watts RMS going to (2) MTX 9500's @ 2ohm. I hit 10 volts at idle on a deep bass notes around 40hz.

I know everyone hates capacitors, but I still want to get one for the hell of it.

What is the difference between a Hybrid Capacitor and a standard Capacitor?

I've noticed the hybrid tyoe look like amplifier's and are available in 20 farad's for around $200, but the standard capacitor is 1-2 farads and its 100-150 for good name brand's.....

carbon fiber hybrid? they dont move too much juice. better off getting a bat cap or another battery you can get another alt just make sure it kicks in low enough in rpms

a capacitor will work wonders. i'm telling you it will lift that voltage from 10 volts to 13 volts, no doubt man. i recommend the rockford fosgate caps. they are by far the best. the rf cap blew away my lightning audio cap. i can an almost 1 volt increas man, no shit.

I think you should spend that money on a ho alternator...

So far it looks like the original tube style capicitors are better then the Hybrid Capacitors, it just sounds like 20 farads is soo much better, but if its a Hybrid type your telling me that it will not put out that much power. Is this true? Do you think it would be good to link 4 1 farad tube style orignal capacitors together?

Iraggi and Excessive Amperage Alternators are the best out there IMO.

for the price of like 2 caps, you could get a HO alternator, which would be much more effective than 2 caps imo.........
