yeah i have no idea, i think im going to hook up my door speakers to it bridged. id like to know more about them though.

its does 55x4 or 120x2@ 4ohm bridged and came out in 1987 -1992 thats all i got dont know of the value id say around $60 -$75

ok, i took the time to track down some real measurements on this amp......... because, one of my first amps was a 270watt 2-channel yamaha similar to this one....and i loved it... anyways, yes, it is a somewhat rare amp, that is actively sought after by those who know what it is, and really want it back. now, the skinny on it- measured power is 203wpc @ clipping 210wpc max rms (no max output that i can find) most output @ 4ohm. 153wpc @clipping, 162maxwpc both 2&8ohm.... this is with the amp set to 2-channel operation. full overload/thermal/short circuitry protection, etc... it has verry clean, tight playback. not top-end, but definitely exceedingly better than average. i would say that you could throw it on ebay for 200 and have a chance of selling... but may need to wait for someone to recognize it..... to the average enthusiast joe, you probably have to explain what it is to get $100 imho *measurements were taken while the amp was current model.

I doubt that amp would bring $200 even on Fleabay unless it's new(or near new) in the box. Seen several decent looking ones go for around $100 over the past year.

I've owned several Yamaha amps (never owned a YPA-1000) and they all did better than rated. They are good low power, SQ amps but, the YPA-1000 was alittle on the large side even back in the day. You could certainly do worse for your mids/highs.

i based that figure off of seeing online offers to buy from different sites... lowest was $70

I have a few old school Yamaha pieces they are pretty nice quality...in good shape the amp would bring around $100 plus shipping if everything works...in mint new condition with the box and manual you could see close to $200 ...they probably cost around $500 new back in the day.....
