Older PPI actual RMS

I always hear how the old PPI amps were very underrated as far as power specs go. What are we talking about here? Let's say that the manual says 200w RMS, what is the actual RMS?

I bought my PPI in 99:

because now days most amps are over rated...tke a 760 pioneer are sony for example they are lucky to do 300 actual watts...your amp does what it claims...

i have an art 600.2 that landis tech repaired for me 4 years ago and the new birth sheet he sent with the amp said

185x2@4ohm

401x2@2ohm

718x1@4ohm bridged

904x1@2ohms bridged*

*this amp holds 2 ohms all day. i have it in my bronco running a w3v3 2ohm sub now for about a year.

Cool, thanks. I might have to be shopping for a new amp, and I'm trying to get a basis of comparison.

most of the better old school amps(kicker, fosgate, mtx, ppi)were "under rated" and imo had more power per given model of there newer styles.

Defitinitely, you have to go back to 1990-1995 for PPI amps.

Every old PPI amp I've seen benched did ever so slightly above (less than 10%) rated power into 4 ohms and right at rated power at 2. The ProMOS and ProArt series did a good bit more than rated into 4 and right at rated at 1. The important part was that they would do the same power as long as they had enough current and the voltage was above 10V. Below 10V they shut off.

that`s B.S. those amps will not play 2-ohms bridged mono, I have 2 A600.2s and the most I have seen or tested was around 690 watts 4-ohms bridged mono.

i have the pc2350. 1400 @ 4 ohms. does 1503 @ 12 volts.

this amp has been running a jl 12w6v2, and a w3v3 2ohm now for over a year. currently there is a pioneer with dual 4ohm(wired for two) and it works just fine. call landis tech, they repaired the amp and iam shure they know more than you about the specs of this amp. this amp runs just fine at 2 ohms. dont think so-go check out the pics of my truck in the gallery.dont call bs if you dont have the facts.
