well I guess no help on this one, how about a sony es xm-5026, or a sony xm-801, also a rockford 2.6x a coworker of mine has these and is wanting to throw a few things in his 2 cars, he is not a sq by any means are these more of a collectors style amps or just run of the mill stuff i should just throw in his cars, i can get pics if needed they need some cleaning up

wow, that Memphis is not something you see often. i really cannot tell you much on it, just a guess that it is from the mid-90's and while the company was still growing. the layout, and circuit proportion is not unlike that of the soundstreams, which could equate to some nice sounding power running passive. no where near the same processing or management of a soundstream, but still looks to be a good buy none-the-less. did your friend stuff all those amps in the closet like a decade ago?lol.... they are all from the late 90's, about the same time. you could call the 5026 somewhat collectable, to a few. the sony's are good solid amps, but not many bite on sony, since they have been flooding the market with soo much junk for a decade or so. i would just use them. if the rockford is in good shape, it might fetch some collector value, imo. the 801, however, is a pretty nice piece from the late 80's. @******* Bobb might be interested in it. none of them, however, are power-houses, but they all should sound good if they fully function.

GET THAT SONY

Super rare, and my second favorite sounding amp of all time. Most unique guts of any amp I've seen as well

I'll probably buy it from you if you get it, pending the price.

im assuming your meaning the 801 to match the one i saw you post about a few years back? lol, if so ill have to test it make sure it works, or doesnt and get a pic with my name with it, as well as get permission from the guy that owns it lol, any ball park figures on what you might want to pay for it? pm me if so

boy, all-too familiar feeling i get looking at those guts. vauge membories of working on stuff built like that, and boy is it built. just look at those caps, and a shielded encased power supply section. i would probably end up polishing the finger-print oxidation off of it, lol.. o.p.- i wouldn't suggest popping it open near that far. back then they built things as a 20 step process to get it apart, 10 steps to set it up for testing and a bucket of finesse mixed with elbow grease and profanity to use the whole time, lol. i just wanted to see the gutshots he had.

Yeah man it was a total bitch!!! The fingerprints are from the thermal paste that was all over it before lol. It was messy, complicated, and took way too long. But I really wanted to see the power supply, so I went for it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
