Older Kicker L7 Solobarics vs Eclipse Aluminums

i had 2 15 eclipse aluminums for a while powered off a cadence zrs10 they were nice but i wanted more bass..so i sold them and got 3 12 l7s the older ones they are black and say solobaric in the middle...i figured that they would have a lot more bass but i am actually very disappointed...is there a difference between the older l7s and the newer ones? Also what are some subs that get loud for around 150 each?
