hey guys tell me this please, ive tried this thread once but i only got retarded answers so ill ask again...

i have a 9815 but i dont know, i heard the good SQ alpine hus were the older ones... the 2002 line had 7894/7995/7998 and i heard these have a much better sq than the 2003 line for example.. plus my 9815 loads mp3s too slow (2,3 secs i think)... i really dont mind 2 line display so **** that...

does a 7894 or 7995 or whatever sounds better than my 9815? the only problem is tha i want a hu that has 3way mode coz i use it on mine and i hate my comps xover

i dont think the elder units had any better SQ than the current ones...all in the same IMO

nothing has changed, nor progressed

There were better audiophile grade units as far as construction for the $$$- like the copper plated, non-clipping preous...like my old 7949

i have a 7995 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
how does it compare to a 9815???

and i dont get it, in my country everyone has said by unamity that 7998 and 7894 have a much better SQ than 9815/9835 and such

INUMEROUS threads about people who saw the LIGHT from a 7998 after migrating from a 9815... incomparable SQ and such... much better definition... wth why only here people dont say that?

Well considering they sold in the 500-799 range at one point for a phantom face....expectations color perceptions. I myself payed a tag on the 7998 and found it to be the same SQ wise as my 7949. Which i find to be the same as everything of late...9815/9835/9855 just whistles separating it.....

The 7894 on the other hand was a mediocre deck in comparison, didn't get much praise for its SQ.

i can't judge how it compares to the 9815 because ive never installed any other head unit in my current car except the 7995 itself and im totally satisfied with it. the 7998 is the only higher model of the 2002 model.. and their are more features that the 7995 doesnt have.. for instance, i believe it has a more flexible EQ and crosssover settings.. u have more "center frequencies" to work with i belive and i believe that is why people say it has beter SQ? maybe becuz they are able to tweek the EQ more than they are able to with other head units. I, however, have an Audiocontrol EQX and have the defeat setting on my 7995 on.. so basically my audiocontrol does all the processing and i LOVE my sound. honestly, i bet if you get an EQ and got to tuning your system more precisely with any DECENT head unit, you can achieve great sound. basically, i would rather much spend my money on an EQ more than i would upgrading to a HIGHER MODEL head unit..

well i heard that all the complaints on the Bass and mid bass of the 9815/9813 werent on the 7998... i know like 10 people who migrated from 9815 to 7998 they all said they were enourmeously impressed with the difference.. they said the bass reappeared on their system and with a nitid difference and bla bla bla...

no one here EVER made any comparison???
