Okay, BIG or SMALL for an L7 15?

Okay give me your advice, Should I go with a bigger or smaller enclosure for my L7 15, trying to get as much opinions as I can. Proly going with sealed but if some1 has gone ported with one of these and the SPL is crazy lund but decent sounding please lmk.

I wanted to built a sealed at 3.5 cubes any input?

go witha sealed box if you want any kind of SQ, a 3 cu ft box woudl be enough for them i have used a 1.5 and a 3 cu ft box, the 1.5 was a little tighter bass but not as loud the 3 cu ft had more volume in the music and a better sound.

And 1.5 ft^3 for a 15L7 ? Oh man, that's ... well, way too small ...

6 ft is almost too big it gets close to an infinite baffle so the speaker is almost like being free air....

its still a sealed box.. ALL Ib installs are STILL a sealed box... and I can sit here and name tons and tons of world champion caliber cars that use IB...

IB works well because of the lower Q, and the flatter response. And for a high 'Q' woofer such as the L7, they provide one of the few ways to get one to sound very good...

go read up on Infinite Baffle (btw.. free air was a term coined and trademarked by kicker, several years ago) its also an incorrect statement.. as its not free air..

speaking of the manual..i have one too...and you left out the parahgraph before that..."the reccomended compact sealed boxes have the highest power handling of all our reccomended enclusre designs. they deliver massive amounts of high impact bass and can be driven with punishing levels of amp power. " all the last line on that page "DO NOT make the airspace any greater than recommended."
