OK to drill screws completely thru box?

box looks like this (except it would say 1 5/8")

don't go buying the 1" screws now. I know it can be a bit confusing since i'm saying 1 5/8" but the box says 1".

Predrilling is good. NOT with a bit that's bigger than the diameter of the screw, okay. I usually wouldn't have to state that, but I think this is a special case.

No need for any caulk or silicone before screwing. Weather stripping can help ensure and air-tight seal around the sub when mounting.
