I just go my wiring kit today and I was messing around with it. The negative battery connector touched the positive battery connector on the amp and there was a spark but nothing was connected, could any damage have been done to the amp? Yes I am a NEWB.

Yea check those fuses and see if it still works. If only the fuses were blown u got off lucky. I remember when I was doing the Big 3 on my car and the line that comes from the Alternator touched the negative post of the battery. BIG pop and hella smoke. I thought my Alternator was done for sure. I gess the engine block took the shock and the smoke was just the energy gettin dissipated ... or watever. I should know what the exact process was but Im too lazy to pay attention in school..

x3 on the fuse

HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA i laughed.

So how will I know if the fuses are blown? I tried to take them out but they are in pretty tight, it's on a Viper 1200 BTW.

You shorted the input filter capacitors - I am surprised they held a charge that long. I doubt you did any damage but hook it up and see. Won't hurt the caps - in fact while not recommended, large electrolytic caps can be rejuvenated by charging them and shorting them out - used to do it all the time for camera strobe flashes - makes one hell of a pop....
