ok, im soon to be setting up a new system i will be getting a mtx audio TA81001 amp pushing to CVX12's. here is the question, i want to just put a second battery in the trunk i dont have to worry about killing the battery for the engine itself, do i just put the battery in the back and to connect it to the alternator some how? my grandpa is very good with electronics than he is with cars, lol, and he thinks that it should be connected to the alternator is this true or not. just curious and if this was a dumb question sorry. thanks for any help!

I'm almost positive you can hook the 2nd battery directly to the alternator instead of the other battery. Also the second battery would be getting power faster therefore making it better. I am only like 80% sure on this so i would wait for someone with a little more knowledge to reply to your question.

yea i think im going to throw that out, i just googled it and found out it was a dumb question:D, lol i know nothing about cars, im just going to gut the old wire and go 0 gauge

i havent done this myself yet but wouldnt you just connect it to the first battery... power from the alt should automaticcally goto the other battery if im correct?
