ok my factory battery has special terminals on it due to having a fuse block mounted on top of it and regular terminals just will not work.

so my question is can i run my power off of the alt positive to a batt in the back of the car. and ground the batt in the back to the chassis. or do the two batts (factory and secondary) have to be connected as to not have ground loop issues. i know connecting them would add reserve capability, but i really dont want to have to get custom terminals made.

it will work fine, it will also take a bit more of the strain away from the factory electrical components
it would be a good idea to have a dedicated volt meter on the back batt/s to make sure they are not dipping
thanks i think im going to try and glass a meter in the coin tray chevy put right below the radio. that way if i mess up its only a $30 piece of plastic and not a $120 dash trim piece.

one thing that this car has is sound deadener 2 1/2 inches of foam on the floor and 1in on the inside firewall and 1/2 inch on the outside firewall. im kinda curious how the doors are going to look. havent had a chance to take them apart yet.
