ok... i rreally did it this time

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif so i started hooking up my cd player, jvc kd-s30, i got it hooked up and started listening to it. well, last night when i opened my door, my dome light wouldnt come on. i said huh.. wonder y?... and i just got in my car. i got going turned my lights on and ill be dammed if my gauges didnt focking light up!!!!! so i took my cd player and unhooked it completely. i sorted all the wires (speaker, constant, accessory, illumination ect ect) well i have 2 extra wires that i didnt no anything about. they are the domelight wire and the gage light wire. i have the gauge light wire hooked into the illumination wire so it comes on when i have my car on but when i do that, i can turn my cd player on with my lights!!!!! so basicly i need to no where i hook up the dome light wire and the gauge light wire if any one knows. thanks for all the help in advance.

There's no "dome light" wire behind the head unit. If there's two illumination wires, then one is a "dimmer" wire that is controlled by the dimmer switch and the other is a true illumination wire that reads 12v whenever the parking lights are on. You apparently have one of these wires connected to your head unit's ACC input. I'm guessing you also have a blown constant power fuse and that's why your dome light isn't working.

Dude if you can turn your cd player on with ur dome light switch thats amazing, id leave it.

im glad you figured it out...when you get a problem like that and cant figure it out, just give yourself a break from it next time. Go in and watch survivor or something and get calmed down then try it again later.
