Ok i gotta BMV Question help me out

ok so i recently purchased a 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G with 45,000 miles for 11,500. And today my registration is due so i have to go to the bmv today and get it registered. Also i have to pay sales tax on the car but here is the catch the original owner never put a price on the back of the title and so it leaves me with the descion of what price to put on the back cause i have heard of people putting a totally different price on it that what they payed for it i bought this myself with 2500 in graduation money and a $9000 loan. My dad said to put 5000 down and say you bought it with a blown engine which is a good idea but will i have to get the original owner to agree to do this?Could i put an even lower price on it? And also im getting a custom D.A.R.E Plate for the cops. thanks for the help

What do you mean D.A.R.E. plate for the cops? You know, a lot of cops will actually target you if you have a DARE sticker and are a teenager.

Really depends on if the person at the bmv wants to be a dick or not. I've had it go both ways where I had to get a bill of sale, notorized mind you, and times when I got rubberstamped and run through. Try it and see?

You will have to have a form filled out by the previous owner stating what was wrong with the car if you put down to low of a sell price. You could probably get away with about $8500, but you go to low and they'll either charge you their appraised rate (normally high) or make you fill out a form signed by both the seller and buyer.

Happened to me when I got my Subaru. I paid $7000 because it had been in a previous accident (rebuilt) but had a clear title, had a receipt from him, but it wasn't enough because the sell price was too low.

most cars weve either written gift or a small amt. ive never heard of any of them asking questions before nor making you prove what you paid. you shouldnt have a problem.

in ohio we have BMV's they are bureau's here.
