Ok, I am stumped. Fluctuating volume

I recently had a jl12w7 installed running on a diamond audio d800.1 as well as some misc speakers/amps. Just recently while doing some light listening the bass just started to fluctuate. ONLY the bass. What makes it worse when it's not fluctuating it's extremely hard to hear. (Note there is no distortion in sound quality just volume, sounds good all around) Speakers and all other electrical running just fine. I checked out the amp, no protect or any other cautionary lights. Opened it up looks good inside too. Checked all the connections, solid. No fuses blown. Just my mind

Just checked, solid grounds. subs coil is pristine. unhooked it all, plugged back in. Still nothing
