Does Peer Guardian help at all? I don't understand how putting a program on my computer can block or hide the IP assigned to my router?

peer guardian blocks supposed "known" legal ips from connecting TO you, it doesnt block your ip

Yeah it sucks, but at this point in time it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. New sites and new methods of obtaining music will inevitably pop up, and the popularity of piracy will increase exponentially until the record labels look at new avenues of distribution. They're still following the basic business model that was developed when FM radio became popular, which is now horribly antiquated, and they continue to ignore changes in consumer behavior. Rather than dealing with it head on, or even realizing that the source of album leaks always starts with an industry insider, they just blame the consumer.

And really, I hope no one is scared or wipes their HD clean or anything. The raid was just a glorified scare tactic.
