Ohms

So if I have 2 Dual 4 ohm Eclipse woofers what type of amp would I need to look at ....it would have to be in the 1000W range

Here's an unendingly handy link you should save for future reference.

Use that wizard to see what final resistance loads you have available to you depending on the voicecoil configuration of the sub or subs you plan to use.

With a pair of Dual 4 Ohm drivers (like the Eclipse subs you've stated) your options for final resistance loads are either a 1 Ohm final load or a 4 Ohm final load depending on how you wire the subs together.

So you'll want to find an amp that will give you the 1,000 watts you're looking for at either 1 Ohm or 4 Ohms.

Just a hint: You'll spend far less $$$ typically on an amp that will give you that level of output at 1 Ohm rather than 4 Ohms...
