Ohms

Thanks. In your opinion, what is the best configuration in this situation.

BTW the two dual 2-ohm subs are currently in a separate enclosure than the single dual 4-ohm sub.

Ok then. This is what I came up with.

1 dual 4-ohm sub in parallel = 2 ohm

2 each dual 2-ohm in series, then parallel the result = 2 ohm

Together both of these in parallel would give me 1 ohm and stable power to each woofer, correct? If so, is this optimal scenerio for my setup?

The dual 4 driver is a 15" in a separate enclosure. The dual 2 drivers are 10"s. Basically all I am concerned with is that the two 10"s get the same amount of power. I don't really care if the 15" gets more power than each 10". In fact, this is good.

Not my concern. I actually had these subs running together before. And they hit harder than anyone else's system around.

I just want to get clarification that my solution is correct and won't damage the amplifier.

So I take it my solution is correct then.

I know that if all voice coils are the same ohms, formula for resistance (in parallel) is;

ohms per VC

-------------------

# of voice coils

So, for example four 2 ohm voice coils in parallel is

2

-- = .5 ohms

4

But what is the formula if you take that result and connect it in parallel to another dual 4 ohm sub? Or formula when you have multiple voice coils with different ohm ratings, like the situation I am in right now?

Or is everyone lost?

my advice....get 2 seperate amps. Thats what my friend has goin. Hes got 2 10's runnin on one amp and 1 12" runnin on another amp. It will be a whole hell of alot easier

This is rediculous! It's not your concern that you are running two different size subwoofers in the same install? It is your install, so I think it should be your concern.

If you had it hooked up before and it ''hit harder than anyone else's'' then why can you not wire it how you previously had it?

You are a moron.
